Laser Remelting
Laser remelting is a high-precision surface-engineering process in which the laser
melts a very thin top layer of material. The molten layer self-levels through
surface tension and rapidly solidifies, creating a smooth, homogeneous and
pore-free finish.
The technology is ideal where surface quality is critical: precision metal
components, mold inserts, tooling surfaces, electronics housings and
micro-mechanical parts.
Why is laser remelting advantageous?
Significant roughness reduction with micron precision
Uniform, pore-free and highly refined surface quality
Minimal distortion due to precisely localized heat input
Contact-free and wear-free surface treatment technology
Highly stable, repeatable and automation-ready process
Ideal for pre-polishing, surface refinement or repair applications
